Hi alt123,
Here is an old thread I started awile ago, and might be a good reference point: http://forum.pcmech.com/showthread.php?t=156385 The different card manufacturers utilise the same graphic cores produced by either nVIDIA or ATI. Each manufacturer has their own company "policy". For example, a particular manufacturer tends to overclock their cards (I cannot remember the name now), while other manufacturers might add different fans, or different cooling options, etc. |

ATI keeps a bit more quality control on cords based on their designs, but even with ATI there are better manufactures. For ATI I like Sapphire, PowerColor, and ATIs own brand (though they tend to cost a bit more). For nVidia, the major brands are EVGA, BFG, and XFX (though evga as you probobly have seen, is overall the most popular for quality and price / warranty right now).
