DVD Decoding Software?

Anyone know where can i find some really good dvd decoding software?(free if possible) i tried the trial for nvidia purevideo it stunk. i originally was going to use the dvd decoding software that came w/ my asus dvd rom, but it came with no cd key! didnt want to deal with things over the phone to get it gives me headaches

I believe you can install something like the K-Lite codec pack (full, it looks like it has a couple DVD player codecs - Cyberlink and Intervideo) and use WMP to watch the DVD's.
