Audio Recording Card
Hey, I was wondering what kind of card you guys would recommend for audio recording. Right now I have just the standard Sound Blaster Live 24 bit card. Is this sufficient for home recording? I basically plan to record my friend's band and switch my dad's vynl records. For the band I have Adobe Audition to do the mixing, but the drummer is going to Berklee next year and he said he might be able to get me a copy of pro tools.
Basically this isn't a hobby that I expect to make any money off of, so I don't want to spend a lot on the card (that may not even be possible for all I know). Any advice would be appreciated. |

Look over the M-Audio Delta cards (Delta 44, 66 1010LT would be good multi-track cards). If you don't want to go multi-track, the M-Audio Audiophile 192 would be a good choice. Some come bundled with a M-Audio version of ProTools (DigiDesign owns M-Audio).
