Good PC speakers to rock out on

Suggestions?

I have Logitech with like 3.5" cones and 8" bass reflex which is great and 110% better with dbpoweramp 11-band equalizer but I'm always looking for better audio. Looking to spend less than $50. I can probably find something on ebay, that's where my Logitech came from. I have ABIT VA-10 onboard audio.

I doubt you will find anything better for $50. An upgrade would be something like the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1's. I would save up for those if you want a real upgrade.

My first vote is for Hi Ho's recommendaton, but they cost. If you can find some Logictech Ze3, that would be nice and fit into your budget. I bought some for a build at Newegg a couple of months ago for $40 + Free shipping.

My next question is:
I have a ABIT VA-10 and this is the audio it has:

On board VIA VT1616 6-Channel AC 97 CODEC
- Professional digital audio interface supports Optical S/PDIF Out
(mobo w/VIA UniChrome KM400 chipset)

I don't know what 2.1, 4.1, 5.1 speakers are. (I guess 5.1 are surround sound.)
Will my mobo support 2.1 or 4.1 speakers? Would I need to get a sound card? My speakers now are 30W RMS. If I go much higher in power will I need to look at my power supply or get a special sound card? (I'm looking to get Klipsch 2.1 speakers that are over 150 W RMS.)

It is a 6 channel codec so yes, it will support surround sound. 2.1, 4.1, 5.1, etc. correspond to the number of speakers. A 2.1 system consists of two speakers and a subwoofer. the ".1" stands for the subwoofer.

Speakers have their own amplifiers and it does not matter how much power your power supply has. The power supply has absolutely nothing to do with the speakers. You can get speakers with any watt rating.
