Question Ok, so what's the deal with S Video??

My laptop has an S Video output...what the heck would I use this for? I mean, on the back of my TV there is an S Video connection but it needs RCA cables connected as well for it to display anything. I was hoping I could just hook this sucker up to my TV and it would display my desktop. The only other connection I have on my laptop is a serial connector.

Anyways thanks.

Your problem could be that you need to switch the input for your television to "Input-1" or "S-Vid" you shouldn't need any other video input though you will need an audio input to get sound from point "a" to point "b".

Of course it could be more complicated but try that first.

It should be as simple as BrokenKingdom described. S-Video carries only video and if you have the settings right you should be in business. Make sure the TV is on the S-Video input.

You probably have to go into the display properties and enable the TV output. From what I could find, your laptop has Intel Extreme Graphics 2. I'm sorry I can't be anymore help but I have no experience with Intel graphics drivers.

Thats what I thought the S Video was all about, I only doubted it because couldn't get it to work...I will check my TV settings and see if I can't get it working. Thank you for the help!
