Need help with audio card connections with FP audio
I've run into a situation i'm unsure about with connecting my front panel audio to my audio card. I've run it w/o audio and everything, and it works fine, just need the audio up and running. First off, here are the parts in question...
- An A8N32-SLI deluxe motherboard - Thermaltake Soprano case - Chaintech 7.1 surround sound audio card Now on the card, with the FP audio connectors, the pins are in a 2x5 arrangement but with one missing... something like this... O O O O O O O O O O Calling the pin on the bottom left number one, the one above it two, and the one to the right of one, three... there is no pin number 8, I repeat... there is no actual 8th pin, I just put it in the above illustration so you can be sure what it kinda looks like w/o an actual picture. So we have nine pins total. The thing is, I have only 7 connectors for the front pannel audio, and i'm not 100% sure which goes where. The seven connectors are called... - Return R / Return L - Ground - Ear R / L - Mic In - Mic VCC And the nine connectors on the FP audio section of the motherboard are in a similar layout... but i'm not 100% sure if everything will be the same. I will put the names of those connectors from pin one to ten as described in the mobo manual... 1 MIC2 2 AGND 3 MICPWR 4 +5VA 5 Line_out_R 6 BLine_OUT_R 7 NC 8 -No pin- 9 Line_out_L 10 BLine_OUT_L As i'm not quite sure what is supposed to go where... and I'd rather not blow something up (the card, the mobo, my house etc...) so I come to you guys. If you need more info, tell me and I'll see if I have it. Thanks for the help. -CA |
