Movie File Lag Issues
Hiya All,
I have just formatted and re-installed Windows to free up some space. Now whenever I play a movie file in Windows Media Player, Nero Showtime or Winamp, it freezes up. The movie starts off fine and almost immediately the video goes out of sync (slows down) with the audio and then the CPU usage hits 100%, the mouse freezes and a restart has to be done. I was told to update the BIOS by ASUS which didnt help and I have updated all of the drivers and codecs and they haven't helped either. It strikes me as funny that DivX Player still works fine! Any light at the end of the tunnel would be much appreciated Fabsio |

Ah, I can relate. My Windows Media player no longer will play my AVI files, so I just started using Divx instead. But if for some reason you have to have windows media player or any of those other work, I'd move down your 3d acceleration in the udner edit, under options, and then under performance. It worked for me. If doesn't work for you, I see no reason for you to care if windows media player/nero showtime/winamp can play those files or not if DivX works fine.

Yeah I dont really care except Showtime works a bit smoother on dual view than DivX does. I also have problems burning using Nero too and this IS a major problem, it works fine until the preview and then freezes. I know DivX burns but havent tried it yet to see what at quality etc...
I would really like to resolve this, mainly just so I know if it happens again, plus I dont seem to be the only one who has this porblem..... |

well I tried slowing the 3d accel. and it worked for winamp and WMP but not for Showtime. However the Nero burning sequence now works so in a way I am content. If anyone can give me an explanation as to why this has happened, I would be interested to know
