No sound after first program

Ok this is a strange problem. This morning I turned on my computer and first browsed the internet on Firefox then decided to play Counter Strike Source. Once I start playing I realize that there is no sound. So I restart the computer and go directly into Counter Strike Source again and the sound works. After playing for a little I go back to web browsing and decided to go into Counter Strike again make sure that the sound is working. It does not. Then I restart again and play an mp3 and it works then try to check the computer volume to make sure everything is fine and I get this...

"There are no active mixer devices avalable. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panal, click Printers and Other Hardware, then click Add Hardware."

I then go to play another mp3 in Windows Media player and I get this then...

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly."

I reinstall the Realtek drivers and I get the same problem.

Then I do a System Restore to two days ago, and the problem is still there.

So now I decied to do a virus scan with AVG, a spyware scan with Defender, and a malware and spyware scan with A squared. They all find nothing. And still I get the same problem.

Also when I put in the Motherboard CD to reinstall the drivers there is no autorun. I check on another CD and also autorun is not working

I have an ASUS P5LD2 motherboard and I am using it's audio hardware.

Edit: I just checked the Realtek audio demo and it makes the demo sound but still nothing else.

Well I have never done anything with the registry before...hope this goes well.

EDIT:

I went into the registry and I did not see the multiple files that were said to be there...

Update:
It fixed itself. I had just restarted my computer so I could play Counter Strike Source with sound. I was playing and all of a sudden windows exits out of it and has this error "Generic Host Process for Win 32 Services has encontered an error and needs to quit." Then it popped up an update window with windows. I restarted the computer and now it seems to be fixed. I don't know why thins happened but I am glad it is fixed.
