I have been looking at getting a new monitor. I am a gamer, so I want something good. We are Costco members and I found that they had a Sceptre 22in. WSXGA LCD monitor on sale for $300. Here's the link for the manufacture site: http://www.sceptre.com/Products/LCD/...22wg_NagaP.htm
It looks like one of the best monitors currently available. What do you recommend? (NOTE: The monitor is no longer available at Costco.) |

http://www.fatwallet.com/t/18/659664/ - people discussing this very monitor
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1111713 - another discussion/review w/ nice pictures "currently all 22" are from chimei, acer, viewsonic all 22" uses the same panel." http://www.behardware.com/articles/6...take-over.html - in this review it highly recommends the Acer AL2216Wbd which, from everything I am seeing, uses the same panel as the Sceptre. Looks like a good deal for a good display Here is the Acer for $299 (after $50 rebate) from CC if you can no longer get the Scepter.

I was just researching the 22" models - I recommend the BenQ because it has a 3 year warranty. The Acer and Sceptre only have 1 year warranties.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16824014131 Not only that, Newegg puts their standard 1 year exchange policy on the BenQ - the others are only 30 days. |

But Costco is who is selling the Sceptre monitor. Their return/exchange policy is the best available. So even if the manufacture won't take the product, Costco will. I have not done this, it's just what I've heard: People would buy a full computer system from Costco and after a couple years, return it and receive the same ammount of money they put into it for their new system. Fortunantly, Costco has changed their rules about Computer systems, now it's only 6 months.

True Costco has a very easy going return policy. If you get a monitor from Newegg and it has some dead pixels it has to have a minumum of 8 before you can return it to them. Costco...return it for 1 dead pixel or for any reason for that matter. Not to mention the return shipping fee and the wait to get a replacement vs. driving down to costco to return/exchange it.
I really like Newegg but in this case, since the panels are probably the same, I would probably buy it from Costco as well. Just my opinion though of course |
