You cant connect the front panel audio ports to the X-Fi. Well you can, but youre gonna have to work for it. The pin-out on the X-Fi is different than the configuration for the mic/headphone ports on the front of the computer. Here are the instructions to modify the plug on your case to work with the X-Fi.

Is this the card with panel that fits in one of the drive bays?
If so what sort of motherboard do you have?

The Xtreme Music is compatable with the front bay, but does not come packaged with it. The X-Fi Platinum comes packaged with the said bay.
