Opening pictures crashes explorer!

My mom bought a new Casio Exilim digital camera. It is a very nice little camera and takes great pictures. The problem is that whenever she tries to open the pictures on the computer she gets the following message: "Windows Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close..." I tried restarting the computer with no luck. I tried opening the pictures on my desktop and I have the same problem. I am opening them with a memory card reader. As soon as I open the folder and the thumbnails load I get the message. I was able to drag the error message out of the way and copy the files to the hard drive. I still get the error when I open the folder on the hard drive. Any folder with even one picture from the Casio crashes my PC! What on earth could be going on???

Do all pictures do this or just from the camera?

It was only pictures from the Casio. It is a moot point now though since I spent the day yesterday reinstalling Windows. I decided to update my video card drivers and my system imploded and would not boot up, even in safe mode. Luckily I still had my Vista install on the other hard drive and was able to copy all of my files over and format the XP drive. The problem with the pictures is gone.
