JVC video camera software question.

I bought my wife a JVC digital video camera with a 20 gig hdd. It comes with software to upload videos, but each of the two computers that I will be using have software already for their DVD burners. My wife's laptop has InterVideo software and my PC has EZ CD Creator 6.0. Do I need install the software included with the camera?

If you can plug the camera into the PC and have it come up as removable storage, you shouldn't have to install the software, you can probably drag and drop the files. However, you are going to need some kind of editing software and I don't think either of your packages can do that.

GLC, Do you expect that both the video camera's software and our preexisting software would play well together? I seem to remember an issue I had with Nero and EZ CD Creator once where the Roxio software would not install due to some file that Nero had. I don't want to revisit that again!

I doubt the software has a duplicate function to what you already have. It's no big deal - make a system restore point before you install it to be safe.

Just a note....I have done the restore and I ended up uninstalling Cyberlink 5.0 that I had on my system, as this new software with the camera turned out to be Cyberlink 5.0 LE, Cyberlink Director Studio and another Cyberlink editing software proggie. All seems to be good! Now just a learning the software curve to get over! Thanks GLC for the help.
