Need recomendations on an AV receiver
Hello.
I am building an HTPC type setup and can't seem to find a receiver that does what I need. What I need is this.. -1 multichannel analog audio inputs, to connect to creative SB X-Fi gamer. -2 HDMI input, 1 output. -Plays dvd's. - is affordable, like under $500 So basicly I want an AV receiver with multichannel analog audio inputs, plays dvd's, and has HDMI i/o. The only ones i can find are $1000-$2000, or only have multichannel analog audio inputs but not HDMI, or vise versa, or no built in dvd player. the whole point of this is so i can get true 5.1(or higher) surround from my computer to AV receiver while playing games. if i can get one that come in a package with speakers too that would be great. The Pioneer VSX-1016 has all of those things and can be found for under $500. The next closest thing would be the Yamaha RX-V1600 which is a step up in price.
I'm not sure what you mean by "plays DVD's". There are no *real* receivers that have built in DVD players, especially not with HDMI.
