Radeon 9800 pro Compatibility
My video card just failed in my old-ish home make. It was a Sapphire Radeon 9600, and I'm replacing it with an ATI Radeon 9800 pro. It's an AGP 9800 Pro. I didn't think there would be a compatibility because my motherboard has AGP 8x. I can drop it in the AGP slot however for some reason the white plastic... "securing thing" for lack of a better word... won't clamp down on the card so it won't go the whole way in the slot. Are this video card and my motherboard actually compatible? Any help appreciated.

Pull the 9800 and make sure that there isn't something in the slot to prevent the card from setting completely. If the clamp doesn't latch in, usually means the card isn't fully in the slot.
If the edge connectoers are the same on both cards, good to go.
