Budget LCD monitor

hi, im interested in buying a lcd monitor mainly because ive read that lcd consume less power, and dont emit a great amount of ELF waves like CRT monitors. I would be using the monitor for older games such as Quake which i run at 640 X 480 on a radeon 9600xt. I would like spend less than 200 for a 17" or 15". My main concern is picture clarity in the game and frames per second, so i set my video card to performance instead of high quality. However, i never experienced gaming on a LCD monitor so i am not sure of the performance of a budget LCD monitor. Thanks

Search through Newegg.com in the 15" and 17" LCD size. They have a lot of monitors under $200. You may have to up the resolution of the games since LCDs work best at their native resolution: 17" = 1280x1024 and 15" = 1024x768. The lowest they may go is 800x600.

LCD's will go down to 640x480 but ANY resolution less than native will result in pixelation - it won't be sharp and clear.
