Trying to upgrade video card

Hey what's going on everyone.Let me start off by explaining my system specs and then I will ask the question.

Specs:
AMD 64 3700+ San Diego, Asus A8N-SLI Premium, Corsair ValueSelect 2x512mb ram, Maxtor 80gig HD, MSI Radeon X800 DDR 128mb, Razor Diamondback Optical Mouse, 17" Samsung Syncmaster 740B

So my question is, when I am trying to upgrade my memory, do I have to keep the video card consistent with the type of memory I use in the system? Like for instance, I have DDR memory in the system, do I have to use DDR video card or could I use like GDDR3? Is it in my best interest to stay horizonatally consistent all the way through?

Thanks everyone,
Keith

No. The two types of memory are completely separate. For your motherboard, you can only use DDR. It is not possible to buy the ram used on video cards, such as GDDR3 for PCs.

Roger, I appreciate that. Now the difficult part is trying to find a solid nvidia (not feeling ATI right now) video card without dual DVI. I'd still like to have the DVI/VGA combo.

Don't sweat it, cards with dual DVI come with DVI>VGA adapters, so you can still use VGA only monitors.
