I am editing a Mini-DV-format film with Video Studio 6, to be transferred to
DVD upon completion. However, there are footage sequences containing unwanted audio portions on the sound track that spoil the footage (audio from camera operator comments picked up by the camera mic). Is there any way to "strip out"/edit the unwanted audio portions with a program like Sound Forge Audio Studio? I'm running under W2K. Thanks for any feedback. |

I am not familiar with that program but most editors I have used will allow you alter or edit the audio trakc separately. I believe it has to be edited in timeline view in Nero. HTH.

If you're talking about background noise that's occuring simultaniously with audio that's important to your final product there's very little you can do. You can try various filtering techniques like notch filtering but it's a difficult technique to do correctly without adversely affecting important aspects of your audio.
I'm not sure if a package as limited as Sound Forge Audio Studio is really capable of critical editing techniques like that. Please don't take that wrong - it's a good product, but there are very few prosumer products that can handle editing like that and Sound Forge Audio Studio is a crippled version of a prosumer product (Sound Forge 8).
