BFG Tech video card...Good deal?

Hi….. .I’m not a gamer. I saw this video card on Newegg. As I understand it, this type card was pretty much the top of the line before the 8xxx series cards came out. I don’t need Direct X 10, but I will be doing some video editing.

I’m curious to see if this looks like a good deal. From my travels on this forum, Evga is a brand mentioned often. How does BFG Tech compare?

Thanks for your comments.

Tom's hardware recommends the X1950XT for that price range ( http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/05/...e_card_for_210 ). They say "It [an X1950XT] will handily beat a 7950 GT, and even best a 7900 GTO or 7900 GTX at most things." Newegg has one for $199.99 (and a $20 MIR if you do those): http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814102067 . However, the X1950XT is a gaming card, and I would assume that the 7950GT is also a gaming card. You could probably spend a lot less and still do great for video editing. The X1950XT needs a good PSU and I would assume that the 7950GT does too. Before you get either of those, post the brand and model of your PSU (and a link to it if possible).
