ati 2900 vs nividia's 8800

Is there a forum here that explains the pros and cons of the cards. I saw the benchmarks for each card, and read reviews on newegg. I only been hearing about how hot and loud the ati card is. I'm not sure which one I should get. Any suggestion or any site that might help my decision.

8800GTX>2900>8800GTS in most cases.

But you can also knock the 2900 down a few levels due to the fact it consumes more power then the 8800gtx, and runs hotter.

Hopefully by the R650 is out, ATI can close the gap...because the 2900 was pretty dissapointing.

Reminds of the when the X1800XT and X1900XTX were released 3 months from each other.
