slow Perf. Playing Games

Ive had my computer for 2 years now. When I first got Company Of Heroes, it ran great on high detail. Nothing at all would make it hickup. I have not played the game in months but just recently decided to play. However now, the hame seems to run like a slide show. Even turning the graphics on low makes no difference what so ever. Ive defragged the HD, ran spybot and adaware, made sure McAffee was working and no viruses found. I cant understand the recent slow down considering my PC has not changed hardware wise at all! Can anyone help me out here?

Could excessive heat cause a slow down? Ive opened the case to try and let it cool down. But its still running slow.

Did you try killing all the programs in your task bar and that are running in the background. Also turn off mcafee. Did you try updating your video drivers?

I think I ifxed the problem, I took the graphics card out and noticed a lot of dust covering the heatsink on the graphics card. Once I cleaned it, semed to fix the performance problem.
