Dual monitors
Hello everyone:
Could someone tell me if it is possible to run two monitors on a Shappire X1950 Pro with one showing the desktop and the other showing lets say a game or a movie. I know you can set it up to be an extended desktop, but is it possible to have two different things on the monitors with just the one video card. Thank You Extreme

How do you have that setup? My taskbar runs across both screens and everything extends on both screens.

On my 2 monitor set-up, have one montor set as primary monitor which has the task boar and desktop on it, the other is basiclly blank except for the back ground image. This is all done in Display Properties.

What OS are you running these two on?
The reason I ask is because I don't think it's possible to have the task bar stretch multiple screens in XP. I have dual monitor with same scenario as the others and you can have two different things up at the same time.

in Xp i have my big monitor set as primary monitor (so it keeps taskbar on that) and second one i have the "extend desktop across this screen" check box ticked, and as stated above the second screen has nothing but background image on it but i can drag any window over there and maximise on second screen

Here is my next problem. Let say I am playing call of duty 2 on the primary monitor, how do I switch from call of duty 2 on the primary monitor to lets say aim on the secondary monitor without minimizing COD2 on the primary monitor. There is no window mode to drag COD2 anywhere.

I don't think it's possible to do that. Are you trying to run two instances of COD2 at the same time? If you are trying to do that to switch from each other then you are going to have to bring to focus one at a time which is essentially minimizing and maximizing each.

No, what I want to do is say, play COD 2 on the primary monitor and lets say chat on aim and/or watch a movie on the secondary monitor.

I have a 19" LCD set up as the secondary monitor and a 17" CRT as primary monitor. This way i can use the big monitor for my active progem but still access a second progam on the CRT.

You can tweak the game to run in Windowed mode. Then you can more easily move between it and other programs. For COD2, the tweak is here: http://www.tweakguides.com/COD2_9.html
