cant find 2nd monitor

Hello, Need a bit of help please, I connected my yellow lead to my 8800GTX and the other end into the yellow socket on my tv (tv is a very modern widescreen) i turn it over to s-video and its just a blue screen? i have looked in NVIDIA control panel and it cant find it am i doing something wrong?
Any help grately recieved thank you
Pc set up:
CPU - Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)
MOBO - ASUS P5N32-E-SLI Plus
GFX - BFG NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX 768mb GDDR3
RAM - 2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800)
HDD - 150 Gb Western Digital WD1500ADFD Raptor Enterprise, SATA, 10000 rpm, 16MB Cache, 4.6 ms, NCQ
PSU - 530W HiperPower Type-R Modular Black PSU
DVD Drive - ASUS DRW-1814BLT/SATA/BLACK 18X DVDRW LIGHTSCRIBE SATA
Also it is running XP

Have you restarted since you connected the monitor? You need to restart the computer with the monitor attached for XP to recognize that it is there.
