Camera Download

I'm trying to download pictures from an older (and inexpensive) camera. I've put all the details I know below. Bottom line, I've been able to get my computer to recognize that it has a camera attached, but can't get any further. I've tried a few image editing programs, but can't seem to 'find' the camera. Nor, does it appear in the "my Computer" view as a storage device.

In the device manager, there is an entry under "imaging devices" called "VGA Dual-Mode Camera". And when I first plugged in the camera, XP went through the new hardware wizard successfully. I'm using a Camera Maker driver ver 2.0.0.0 from 3/30/2004.

The camera was a gift to my daughter and we no longer have any documentation/packaging. Here's what I can get from the camera:

It's round and about 3.25" in diameter, silver plastic. The name on the front says "ion digital camera". The label on the back states Manufactured by: WWL, copyright 2002 WWL, Model number 3435. S/N is P0500131660044626.

I think it was purchased at Target, but not 100% sure.

I've tried Windows Movie Maker, Nikon's picture project, HP Image Essentials and a few other random image programs I've collected over the years.

try switching the camera to play back the pics as if you were viewing them.

Good thought, but there is no play-back. There is no LCD screen and no "modes" only on and off. It says "PC" in the readout when plugged in and displays the remaining picture count otherwise.
