Question Uninstall Video Card

i am a newbee to pc hardware and systems so please forgive me if this question offends anyone. i am not a gamer and wanted a slight upgrade on my dell 5200. i installed a nvivia geforce 5200 apg card and when i go to install dx 9 off of the install cd a message says" file cabinet is corrupt".

do i need to uninstall and reinstall hardware? if so, how?

The DX installer is corrupted. Download DX from www.microsoft.com/directx .
