Moving a sound card
Hello
I just removed my 7600GT graphics card and put in a double slot 7900GTX, now the problem is the sound card (creative X-Fi ....) sits in a PCI slot all but touching the grpahics card every where, so the air flow from the graphics will not be going anywhere except back onto itself. Can I just remove the sound card and move it to another PCI slot away from the graphics card (extreme edge of mobo) without doing any anything or do I have to go through some kind of procedure, like remove drivers, unlpug, etc etc. If this is the case a step by step guide would be great. thanks |

You should be able to move the sound card to a different slot without having to do anything else, since the O/S will automatically assign resources(IRQ, etc.) for it if necessary.
