Moving a sound card

Hello

I just removed my 7600GT graphics card and put in a double slot 7900GTX, now the problem is the sound card (creative X-Fi ....) sits in a PCI slot all but touching the grpahics card every where, so the air flow from the graphics will not be going anywhere except back onto itself.

Can I just remove the sound card and move it to another PCI slot away from the graphics card (extreme edge of mobo) without doing any anything or do I have to go through some kind of procedure, like remove drivers, unlpug, etc etc. If this is the case a step by step guide would be great.

thanks
krishan

My suggestion would be to uninstall all of the drivers first. Then move the card and let the computer find it. Then reinstall all the drivers.

You shouldn't need to uninstall the drivers if you are only moving it to a different PCI slot, I have moved expansion cards lots of times this way.
