So have you tried to just plug both into your mother board?

Does your mother board and power supply support sli?

Most of the higher end video cards made using the nvidia chipset have a connector at the top of the video card since the pci-e bus didn't have enough bandwidth for the cards to communicate with each other. The lower end video cards like the 7300GS will work without a connector because they don't need the additional bandwidth. If you had a used a higher end card like the 7600GT which has the required connection on the card, you could either run them in sli without the connector and have slower performance, or use the SLI bridge that came with the motherboard to connect them and increase performance.

For lower end video cards like the 7300GS, 500W should be fine.

when I did my SLI, the bridge connector came with my MOBO, not the graphics card. Mine is ASUS M2N-E SLIa nd the vid card are 7600. SLI works great
