pc to hdtv lcd

Tried hooking up my pc 2 my philips 42" lcd hd tv. used a s video from back of pc 2 rca video jack 2 tv. it worked, but desktop was kind of blurry. changed resalution on pc but things still were blurry???? Am i doin something wrong here??? app. any help Bg Anch Ak.

An S-video connection will produce a poor quality display on the HDTV. You need to use either a DVI or VGA port on your video card, and either a component, DVI, or HDMI port on your HDTV to get a decent quality display.

DVI -> DVI (Use a DVI cable. Note that it should be 15' max length, or the picture quality may suffer.)

DVI -> HDMI (Use a DVI-to-HDMI adapter cable. Same as above for the adapter cable length.)

VGA -> component (Use a VGA-to-component transcoder)

Also, make sure the video card is set to the same resolution as the HDTV's native resolution(or as close as possible).

thanks for the info! looks like i,ll b needing a new video card, since i can,t find the connections u mentioned. ( just have the s video) what would u recomend? again, thanks for the help!!! Bg

Your video card should have VGA. That is the blue 15-pin connection on the back. But if you're looking for a new card, we need to know about your PC first. If its home-built, post the specs. If it is a brand name, post the model number.

ok, found vga 15 pin on pc. now, do they make a vga 2 hdmi plug???

No. You can just you the VGA cable as most LCDs and probably yours have a VGA input.
