HDTV and Laptop Display Question

I just bought a LCD Sharp HD TV - http://www.sharpusa.com/products/Mod...8,1841,00.html

I also recently in the past year bought a brand new Dell XPS Laptop with a good Nvideo video card I think its like high 7600's or something. Anyway, my question is I know I can hookup the computer to the monitor of my LCD HDTV, but my question is how can I do it with a laptop? I dont want dual monitors, I want to be able to close my laptop and have the HDTV as my main monitor while playing a game, any programs or options that are easy that can allow me to do this?

I don't know if there's any software that will allow you to do what you propose, but as an alternative you should be able to switch between the laptop's screen and an external monitor(or tv) in the laptop's display properties, assuming the laptop has at least one external video port.

Just toggling through the display outputs will get you what you need like ski said. Check your manual to see if that TV limits the resolution of the VGA input at all.
