New Video Card Help

I built myself a nice semibudget gaming rig last June. When I built it, I only used an nVIDIA 7600GT from eVGA. It's a great card to use and nets me near 100 fps on America's Army, and like 60-70 on CoD4. I didn't want to spend a fortune on a video card back then, but I'm looking to upgrade now...

The one card that has caught my eye is the nVIDIA 8800GT, but it says PCI-E 2.0? Is that the new standard for PCI-E now? And would my MB support that card? What about my power supply as well?

MSI K9VGM-V
OCZ GameXstream or something 600W

I'm basically just wondering about the PCI-E 2.0...

But I'm also open to any suggestions for other video cards too. My budget will be capped at probably $280-300.

Thanks!

That card should work with your setup just fine.

PCI-E 2.0 is just an upgrade that allows for faster communication between the card and the system in the future. Nothing to worry about though because 2.0 cards are backwards compatible with older motherboards.
