245bw and 9600xt video card?
Hey,
I plan on getting the samsung 245bw 24" monitor to use on my old build with a radeon 9600xt video card. Will it be compatible at its native resolution? I plan on getting parts for my new build soon and would like to purchase the monitor now as it is on sale. Also, this is a "1080p" monitor, what does this mean for me? I'm assuming that means HD. Thanks. Last edited by Dave21; 04-06-2008 at 11:19 AM. |

The 9600XT will run that monitor at its native resolution fine. 1080p means that the monitor supports full HD (1920x1080) resolution.

You could play games in 1920x1200 but I wouldnt trust the 9600XT to be able to render the game fast at that high resolution. Any video card that can display 190x1200 (most cards can do 2560x1600) can take advantage of HD. But if you want to play hi-def DVD's (HD-DVD, BluRay) you will need a HDCP capable card, which the Radeon HD and Geforce 8600GTS and above and all of the 9xxx can do.
