Dooh!! just deleted CompactFlash card!

Just had one of my Dooh moments! I deleted all the photos on it... and they are (were) the only copy.

Any good free utilities out there to recover them?

TIA

TR

I have used "Digital Image Recovery" before but I can't find a link to it. If you want me to email it to you let me know by pm.

After poking around a little, I tried FreeUndelete. It worked but was painfully slow. It took almost 40 minutes for the process. Then, when undeleting, it had a confirmation popup for each undeleted file. Quite painful since there were 137 of them.

Not being satisfied with that, I then tried Undelete Plus, also free, found at:

http://www.pcworld.com/downloads/fil...scription.html

Now that's what I'm talking about! After selecting the correct flash reader drive, it found all the deleted file virtually instantaneously. Picking all files threw me but for a second. Ctrl-A didn't work, but I clicked on the first file, then Shift-Clicked on the last file and all were selected. Hitting the Undelete button started things working and it took just a couple of minutes for it to transfer all the files to be copied over to the HD; about the time you'd expect to download them normally.

All is good

My pleasure - I actually D/L'd 3 different ones. Didn't try the first D/L, FreeUndelete was the second, and Undelete Plus was the third (after I found I didn't like FreeUndelete). I'm pleased enough with Undelete Plus that I didn't try the first one... --

Oh, I forgot to mention that FreeUndelete requires installation whereas I used the standalone version Undelete Plus: no installation, just run the program. I like that.
