Media Player problem

Since installing a new board (Biostar NF61S AM2) in my PC I have been unable to play some video files and DVD's, I get error C00D11B. I have checked for updated drivers from Biostar, Nvidia and MS, no luck. Does anyone have any ideas, my next step was going to be disabling the onboard stuff and using add-on cards.
I am using XP Home, Media Player 11

How are you seeing this error code? In you media player? As a bluescreen error?

"No luck", as in, you weren't able to find them, or "no luck" as in you already have the latest ones installed?

If you simply swapped out a motherboard that was a different model, you may run into problems because of it. I've never needed to do this myself, so I'll defer to someone who has if you need a walkthrough.

Media player gives the option to check the web for help on the error, follow the link and that is where the error code comes from.
It gives several tips on correcting the error, none of them works. They point to a sound card problem, this motherboard has built in Realtek.
