Best 19" LCD for gaming.

Hey guys. I'm building a gaming rig now, and i'm looking for a replacement for the Viewsonic E90f CRT I have now. It'll be powered by a Radeon 4870.

What LCD displays are best for gaming? I'll be playing high action games, so a low refresh rate and high contrast ratio would be nice.

I should also mention that I have very good eyesight, and i'll notice any ghosting, however minor.

Therefore I want the best response time possible.

I'd like something 19", and i'll go a little bigger if I have to, to get the best quality/refresh rate.

Right now i'm just getting a feeling for the prices, so throw anything out there.

Samsung monitors aren't too bad, some other good brands include Acer, Benq, LG and Viewsonic (These are all the brands I've tried out so far and had a good experience with).

Samsung and Asus pretty much are the best you can get. LG are excellent as well, the rest are ok but not gaming quality in my opinion!
We sell them all here and I pretty much tested most brands. Samsung and Asus are tops when it comes to LCD monitors make sure and get a 2ms.
When it comes to RMA in case you ever have a problem Asus is hands down the leader in customer support!

I had to deal with Samsung support on one occasion and they were very easy to deal with also.
Anything with 5ms or less should be good for gaming.

How does a 2ms LCD compare to a CRT in terms of refresh rate (ghosting). I cannot stand how even some expensive LCD TVs blur when there is white-on-black, fast motion action.
Thats one of the reasons i've had a CRT as a gaming monitor for so long. But now I need the desk space that my CRT is taking up, so I want a high quality LCD to replace it.

Well, if you assume that the 2ms is completely off/on cycle then the monitor could refresh the pixels 500 times a second or 500Hz. I have an older Samsung with 12ms refresh and I can't see any noticeable ghosting.

ive heard good things about samsungs, i have a dell 19" and its not bad, but i dont use it for gaming, just work... so i dunno how good it it for your needs.

How would 5ms translate to Hertz?
