HIS Hightech Radeon 4870 (512MB) + HIS Hightech Radeon 4870 (1GB)

(How well will these fuction together under Windows XP Pro 32 bit?)

Hey guys. I was planning to run a single 1GB Radeon 4870 on my new system, but now I am thinking I may run a 1GB card together with a 512MB card (Only because I have the 512MB 4870 already, and the 1GB on order)

Here are the rest of the system specs:

ASUS P5Q PRO

Intel E8500 Core 2 Duo 3.16Ghz (Hopefully it'll OC to a stable 4Ghz)

4GB G.SKILL (2 x 2GB) DDR2 1000

WD 640GB SATA (32MB Cache)

610W Continuous PSU

So what advantages will I get by running dissimilar cards? Will my 32Bit games (such as oblivion) have access to the full 1.50 GB of VRAM? Will the cards slow each other down by being different?

Bottom line, am I better off returning my 512MB card, and just running a single 1GB card. Or keeping both cards and running them together?

What about running Vista 64Bit instead of XP 32Bit? Would a 32bit game such as Oblivion or Farcry 3 benifit at all under a 64 bit environment? (I'm pretty sure the total system RAM available to 32bit applications is still capped at 2GB right?)
