Tablet - monitor connection queries

Hi guys,

My girlfriends Mum uses a tablet PC for her work. She recently bought a 19" widescreen monitor to save her eyes! I hooked it up to the tablet via VGA and selected the monitor to primary display in the Intel graphics menu in control panel. I set the resolution to the monitors native of 1440 x 900. She also has a backgrond set of her and her boyfriend (this will be relevant!).

The problem is that whenever she starts up her tablet it goes back to being the primary display and she has to select the monitor all over again, set the resolution up every time and when that happens the background goes standard XP blue, no picture of lover! Is there anything i can do to make it start up on the 19" monitor and retain both the 1440 x 900 resolution and the background photo. The VGA connection is constant i.e she never unplugs it.

Hope you can help. Thanks

Rich

p.s Specs in signature are mine not hers.

Set up a hotkey to switch back and forth between display options. I dont think its wise to want the computer to default to the monitor. What if she wants to use the computer in another location?

She doesn't use it too often out of the office, but it's something the company she works for gives all their employees. Good idea on the hotkey, but is there a way to set it up to default on monitor, with correct res and background pic?

thanks

You are going to have to look in the bios for that.
