Touchscreen Monitor fails on start

I have an LG Flatron Monitor touchscreen
When I turn it on the power light comes on after a 2-3 second delay the screen flashes up the computer input it then rapidly shrinks to black but the power light stays on.

I opened it up hoping for dust problems but found nothing.
These are expensive so is it worth having it repaired or should I just bite the bullet and buy a new one?

Also keep in mind that the video card might not be sending anything to the monitor.....

Have you tried another monitor on that computer and another computer with that monitor? Either could be the issue.

Don't forget to try a different cable when you're swapping monitors.

I tried all of the above thanks, but I found out it has 3 year warranty and here i am at the 2.5 year point.
So I have put it in to be repaired by someone other then myself!

I should have tidied up this loose end earlier.
I rang LG and they sent me to a tech about 3 miles away. He repaired it in 3 days without a quibble
and here I am a happy customer! By the way it was a power supply fault.
