Hardware Acceleration, should I set to None??
Got this error http://wer.microsoft.com/responses/R...28d5de349#here
Not the frist time, but not common. Maybe once or twice a month. The driver is latest so that leaves only the Acceleration. However, giving the purpose of what Acceleration do to my understanding I will ask if it is ideal to set it to None. Monitor has anything to do w/ this? Thanks |

Can you give us more info.
System specs? When does this happen? Other than new drivers, what else have you done? Do you get a bsod at all?

8800 GT Superclocked
XP Home AMD Athlon x2 5200+ 2.6 stock 2x 24" lcd Other than driver, nothing else. No BSOD so far. This usually happens out of the blue. The steps leading to it are I run a game, exit the game (even w/out playing it), the whole system just go into static state (cant move mouse, cant ctrl alt del, etc) for like a minute or two, then more usual I'll restart and get the Win error. In this case, last time it happened just last night, I ran CSS then exit w/out playing. The system stopped response for like a minute. I then ran Medieval Kingdom then exit w/out playing again, got a second non-response, THEN bam nvidia driver error. The whole thing shut down and my resolution dropped back to 1970's 8-bit. Had to restart, then got the error msg. |

I would recommend uninstalling the current drivers and using a driver cleaning program such as THIS to make sure everything is uninstalled. Reboot and then reinstall the most up to date drivers. See if that helps first.
A lot of times updating a driver can contribute to getting errors like this without uninstalling properly. Try it and see if that helps. |

I use CCcleaner
This is how I un/install. Uninstall, safe mode, delete the folder in C:\nvidia\version, run ccleaner, reboot, install new driver. Im pretty sure that is jsut as good as a cleaner way. |

No. Driver Cleaner Pro knows exactly what to look for because that's what it's written for. All CCleaner does is use the Windows uninstaller.

Latest stop error w/ respect to mentions above. WHat now? decrease acceleration? and to how much? Edit: Siiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh new driver AGAIN! Should I update to 182.xx??? Nothing in the update log mention anything about stop error or driver related error. Last edited by Ahura; 04-22-2009 at 07:17 PM. |
