Well, I can tell you what to watch out for. I got a Memorex DVD burner, and was burning Memorex DVD+Rs, so everything seemed smooth as Nero said the DVDs burned successfully. Well, later on I go to copy the content from the DVDs to my desktop, and suddeny the obnoxious windows error sounds off, exclaiming "cyclic redundency error!" Well, what I found out is that the Memorex DVD burner burned only 90 percent of the content and couldn't burn the other 10 percent, so the other 10 percent was corrupted, even though there was no indication from anything, until I tried coping the content to my desktop. And even when I tried playing it, it will play fine until I got to the 10 percent that didn't burn right, and WMP suddenly froze and invoked a message saying "disk is dirty", even though these were all brand new dvds without a single scratch, and in fact a commonality is that the 10 percent was equivalent to 600 megabytes. So each of the DVDs I burned, 600 megabytes out of 4 gigs was corrupted and unable to play.

thanks for the reply. I messed around with some different ideas and got no where.
DMA, PIO, bla,bla,bla....
I have now tried 3 different type of DVD's.
The only ones that will work for me are "Maxell DVD-RW 4.7GB 2Hrs sp mode."
Of course no stores around me sell them, so I have to find them online.

Thanks again for the help.
