Quicktime to DVD
Hey everyone. I need to burn a quicktime movie file onto a dvd that will play on a set-top dvd player. I would just use my Mac to do it, but it only has a cd burner in it. So, I need a way to do it for free on Windows. It doesn't have to be an all-in-one solution, and the separate encoding (if need be) can be done on the Mac if a certain program works better than others. The final burn needs to happen in Windows though (because my dvd burner is in my tower).
Anyone know of any ways to do this? I spent about two hours the other day trying to find free programs / trials online, but they all included watermarks. I have a copy of Nero, but it won't run in Vista. Thanks.

I would get it over to my pc first. Then convert from mov to wmv using Eright Super. Then you should be able to make a dvd with it using Windows DVD Maker. HTH

EDIT: I went back and clicked stream video in an attempt to improve it during the encoding. Now when I reload it into Windows DVD Maker it's looking for the mp4v codec. Do you know where I can find it? Last edited by tomster2300; 07-26-2009 at 10:28 PM. |

For future reference, DVDFlick is a great all in one program that will convert just about any format and burn it to a DVD. I have used it with very good results on a variety of file formats. SUPER is a great tool for converting video for portable devices and Youtube as well.

I tried DVDFlick and it worked like a charm with almost 0 quality loss imo. A straight encode / burn to dvd is not enabled in the settings by default, but once you enable it everything works perfectly.
My video is finished! No more headaches .
