New LCD Monitor Suggestions?

I've been reading reviews on different monitors in Newegg for a couple of hours, and I'm about to lose my mind. Every time I think I find a monitor, I find a review that points out a bad flaw in it. Of course then I read six reviews in a row claiming the colors are washed out and the next review someone writes, "...sharp, vibrant colors!"
I know that a lot of those reviewers don't know what they're talking about, but I don't know which ones they are. So this brings me to my favorite tech advice site.

So does anyone have any suggestions on a new lcd monitor? I can spend up to $350, and I would like to get the most viewing real estate out of that as possible (minimum of 23" horizontal). Any help would be much appreciated.

I'll be using it mainly to watch TV from my computer's tuner, but I'll do a little bit of gaming on it too. I have an AGP HD 512MB graphics card, so it can only do so much. Because I'll be watching it from my bed and the picture will be reduced right now because it's only standard definition tv, I want to get the biggest screen possible.
