TV Tuner Card
I am looking to convert a computer into a dvr. Looking for suggestions on a cheap card and a higher end card ($130ish.) The cheap card can be very simple, single input. I will be recording basic cable (no set top box) for about a year. Then i'll have HD Satellite. So I'll either buy a cheap card for an old computer now, use it for a year and then throw a nice card in my new desktop; or just buy the expensive card now. So I need some recommendations. Here are a couple I've looked at, but I'm really not sure if these will do what I need.
$105 Hauppauge WinTv-HVR 1800 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815116015 $79-$30 MIR = $49 Asus my cinema PE9400 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16815293002 $33 MSI Tv@nywhere http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814127988 Other suggestions or input? |

You can't go wrong with a Hauppauge.

Agree with you, but dont you think that 105 dollars is little expensive?

Not for a quality HD-capable card with 3 tuners and hardware MPEG-2 and all the other stuff it comes with.

Now do all of these cards have a built in TV Guide? Like where I can go in an schedule it to record a show a week or so in advance? Or record an entire series? Or would this be a separate program?
