Question about LCD monitors

My old Dell flat screen CRT monitor is on its way out and was thinking of getting something like a 26" LCD monitor. Apparently, these things have a native resolution and shouldn't be run at a lower res like CRTs can. Would I have a problem hooking one up to my old Dell Dimension 4550 with an ATI 9600 VGA video card? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Here are the specs for the Radeon 9600 : http://ati.amd.com/products/radeon96...pro/specs.html

Scroll down the page till you get to 2D Resolution

Your pretty well covered though you won't have HDCP .

Get a video card with HDMI connector. You can get an AGP HDMI video card for $50. Then get what you want for a monitor. Get an HD TV! I'm using a 40" Sharp Aqueos for my monitor!
