Question dual monitors?

This might be a dumb question, but I've been wondering about dual monitors for some time. I know that you can either use a video card with dual dvi or have two separate video cards, but can you hook up two monitors to a video card with one dvi and one vga and have dual display? I'm talking about a video card like this one:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814161297
and yeah I know that if it is possible one monitor must be dvi and the other one vga (or use adapters)
thanks in advance

As long as the monitors have the correct connectors and you have the right cables, you're all set. I ran that exact setup for quite a while until I build a new system with a vid card with dual dvi connectors.

Amen! And if you want to run a different background on each monitor, google a little program called Display Fusion. Works good.

but is there an advantage of having dual dvi if I'm gonna connect 1 dvi and 1 vga anyway?

Nope. The only reason to get dual DVI is if you MIGHT replace the VGA monitor with a DVI sometime.

If the price isn't any different I don't see why you wouldn't get dual DVI. You can use an adapter for your VGA monitor.
