Video Card Upgrade(ATI)

I Currently have a ATI 4870 which I have loved since I first got it. But, I am looking to upgrade this Christmas from that to possibly this.

http://www.amd.com/us/products/deskt...-overview.aspx

I also have a 21inch Monitor and am looking to get a second(dual) as well. First question is, would it be worth upgrading to that video card from the 4870, and if so I just want to make sure it is compatible with my current mobo which is a Asus P5k Pro. Also, any reccommendations for the second montior would be appreciated! Thanks

The card is compatible with your motherboard, and the power consumption is similar to the hd4870, but I don't think it's worth upgrading to unless you have a 23" monitor or higher and/or your games are lagging; the cost of the HD5870 is also quite high right now, if you don't need it now, might want to wait a bit longer as the prices are sure to come down.

Well the next monitor I was thinking about getting was a 23 inch LCD HD one that is why I figured I should upgrade the video card as well.

I have a 24" LCD hooked up to my main rig (in sig; has a 512MB HD4870) and I can handle pretty much any game with good frame rates and the settings maxed out (except for AA). If you want to have high AA/AF, and everything else maxed out on the 23 inch, then the HD5870 will work great, otherwise, you can probably wait a bit longer.
