Monitor Problem

I completed my new build yesterday and am having the most annoying monitor issue. When I hook my computer up to my LCD and try to boot I get no signal (using a VGA cable with a DVI converter on the video card end). Video just doesn't come on.

Now when I hook the computer up to my Vizio 32" it boots right up with zero issues. After boot up I can unplug the VGA from the TV and plug it into the LCD and picture comes right up. If I shut off or restart from here I lose picture again and have to repeat the process! What could it be? I'm really gettin sick of unplugging the cable, plugging it into the TV, and plugging it back to the LCD every time I want use my computer. I've downloaded and installed video card drivers already. Here's my specs:

Dell S2309W 23"

Gigabyte GA-MA770T-UD39
AMD Phenom 720 2.8ghz
Asus Radeon HD 4850 512mb
4gb g-skill ram
Windows 7 Home
Antec Sonata III Case w/ 500w PSU

Thanks in advance.

Try the other port on the video card. Try a DVI cable.
