Updated Realtek Audio now no speaker sound

I installed an optional windows update vista 64bit earlier today. Then I noticed I was getting no sound later. When I unplug my speakers from my laptop sound plays over the laptop's built in speakers. Also when I insert headphones into the laptop sound does not play through them either. Any ideas?

thanks

Uninstall the update. If you can't figure out which update it was, use system restore.

also make sure you have it as a speaker/headphone in the audio manager. Sometimes realtek is dumb and makes the first thing you plug in a 'line in' or something other than what it is.
