Nvidia control panel not launching.
I am getting a popup window that says "NVIDIA Control Panel Application, 2.7.170.15 has stopped working" It hasn't really stopped working, it just does not launch in the first place.
I reinstalled the drivers for the graphics cards. I am launching it from the Control Panel. The Nvidia system monitor launches just fine. The Performance function is inside of the Nvidia control panel which I use for running the graphics cards fans up to 100% for gaming. Not interested in using Riva Tuner for running up speed of graphics card. I already tried that, unsuccessfully. I really need to access that panel for adjusting other things anyways....like switching SLI off and on and for the dual monitor function. Thanks

Does anyone know where the software for the Nvidia control panel resides? I could try reinstalling it if I knew where it was. Apparently it is not in the drivers for the graphics card. I already tried reinstalling those.
At this point, even wild guesses are welcome.

Thanks George. How would I go about fixing this? I have been searching the internet for a solution...none yet. On the surface it appears to be an Nvidia driver problem because of what the popup screen says. I certainly believe what you are saying though. How is this problem tied to Windows 32, especially when I am running 64?
This must be a relatively rare problem because I am not really finding anything with a Google search. Last edited by David M; 11-03-2009 at 09:28 PM. |

Ahh - then I dunno exactly where it is - all I did was search my XP 32 drive for "nvcpl" and that's where nvcpl.cpl and nvcpl.dll were.
