I really liked the InterVideo decoder, i got it with a video card about 6 years ago, easy, great features. lost the download in a crash and lost the cd in a couple moves. on 10-7-07 i lost my hand in an accident. we had just unloaded everything in the lower driveway to the garage and shop.. we got some of the kitchen bedroom things in then i ended up in the hospital and therapy for a year. the stuff in the driveway got rained on and ruined, most was just shoveled into a dumpster.

this is a little more than i wanted to pay, but looks like it's worth it.. lots of extras..hmm

Do you want DVD play back software or do you want an entire suite of authoring software?

i need a good decoder and copyer, i would like to do some editing eventually, i know nothing, even where to start... i have looked at some freeware, but it seems it's antiquated and difficult. i don't mind paying for EASY/easier.

i would like a program that will automatically burn part of a large file, then the rest on another CD/DVD ..

i ALSO need something also for backing -up data, a program i used to create a partition, later automatically created a 10Mb partition and transfered/CUT 350 GB into it, on 2 hard drives, my XP and the Vista 64 HD apparently at the same time. i now have a Hot Swap System instead of a Dual Boot. i need a physical back up system that is EASY, and can progressively back up onto DVDs.
