Video Card Suggestions
Hey all, my video card fried, and now I need a new one. My previous card was a 256Mb 7600GT, but I'm looking for a step (or 3) up this time. I'm trying to keep the price around $100.
My current system specs are the following: Mobo: ASUS p5b (1 PCI-E x16, 3 PCI-E x1, and 3 PCI I believe...) CPU: Core 2 Duo @ 2.4 Ghz PSU: Enhance 500w OS: Windows XP Home (32 bit) From what I understand, PCI-E 2.0 x16 cards are compatible with PCI-E x16 slots, and the bottleneck isn't drastically noticeable, so I'm okay with a PCI-E 2.0 x16 card if that's the case...I was looking at something like http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814130509 but I'd like a second opinion. Thanks. |

usnavyretired: I looked at the 9800GT's and was really close to going with that card, but I don't think I've got enough "umph" in my psu to run it with the rest of my system...unless I'm mistaken?
glc: Wow, that Radeon card is pretty sweet...I saw HIS's website has a 1gb version, do you think I'll be able to run that one? |

No problem - as long as your PSU has a 6 pin PCI-E connector. You could even run a 4870 if the PSU has 2 PCI-E connectors. Enhance makes decent PSU's.
